MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: • Manufacturing Engineers are directly responsible for the manufacturing, processing and quality of new and existing product(s). • Drive out variation and inefficiencies by continually improving processes for manufacturing and assembly. • Oversee and direct the implementation of current and proposed manufacturing processes. • Evaluate and analyze capability, capacity plans, processes, etc. Recommend improvements and implement approved changes. • Adapt machinery and equipment to meet process requirements. • Plan sequence of operations for specific procedures to achieve optimum production • Work with outside vendor base to achieve desired production requirements • During the design phase, work with design engineers to ensure all process and manufacturing issues are addressed upfront. • The manufacturing engineer is responsible for all manufacturing drawings, process flow charts, set-up drawings, assembly drawings and instruction, and tool/fixture drawings. • During the development phase of a project, the manufacturing engineer will work with internal departments and outside suppliers to ensure that all manufacturing and inspection tools, equipment, and processes are available, and that they are capable of consistently providing components that meet the design requirements. • The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for researching and developing innovative ideas that improve the manufacturing techniques and overall effectiveness of the operation.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE / BACKGROUND: • Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering • A minimum of 7 years relevant job experience. (A Master’s of Science degree can be substituted for up to two years experience.) • Must have experience working with mechanical assemblies consisting of 20 or more components. • Must have experience working with manual / semi-manual assembly lines or cellular assembly. • Languages - Must be fluent in Chinese (Mandarin). Must also be able to understand and converse in written English. Spoken English and/or Korean is a plus. • Must be knowledgeable in Word, Excel and Power Point • Must be a proficient user of a CAD. (Pro-Engineer experience a strong plus. CAM experience is also a plus.) • Manufacturing Engineers will have a thorough knowledge of the following processes, tools and verification processes: machine set-up of tooling, fixturing, Lean manufacturing, and statistical analysis tools: SPC, Six-Sigma etc. • The Manufacturing Engineer will also have a working knowledge of die casting, injection molding, machining, forging, assembly, and finishing (anodizing, plating, and painting).
